Jesse McCartney — singer and actor. He was born on April 9, 1987 in Westchester, New York.Jesse McCartney has always had singing and acting in his blood, so it was a natural turn of events that Jesse McCartney would by age 17 become one of the most widely recognized Hollywood heart-throbes. Born & raised in Ardsley, a small subdivision of Westchester County, McCartney 1st got his try at singing and acting at the age of seven when he began appearing in community theatre productions put on by the small theatre owned by his parents Ginger & Scott McCartney. Soon thereafter McCartney auditioned for the of the young boy in The Six Sense, but failed to get the part. Later at the age of twelve, McCartney received a role in the ABC soap, All My Children, as the character Adam Chandler Jr. However, Jesse’s music career was not about to take a backseat, & at about the same time Jesse beat out about 2,000 young singers to become the youngest member of the band Dream Street.
Throughout the 90’s Jesse’s music career continued to rise. In 2004, Jesse made another leap, this time to prime time television in the WB evening soap Summerland. Unfortunately, the series was short-lived & in the summer of 2005, the show had it’s final episode.
However this roadblock did not seem to deter the tenacious young McCartney, who at the same time produced another venture in music. This time leaving his boyband roots behind for a solo career w/the newly formed production company JumpAhead Productions. In 2004, McCartney released his first solo album “Beautiful Soul”, which soon went multi-platinum & left McCartney with several hit singles.
McCartney is currently working on his second solo CD “Right Where You Want Me”, which is due to be out September 19th.
As for his acting career, Jesse has continued to remain very tenacious & his film Keith, which is his first starring role, is currently in post production.
He is actually a Born Again Christian.
In 2001, Jesse was released from his three-year gig as “J.R. Chandler” on the popular ABC daytime soap opera, All My Children. Five years later, in 2006, Jesse returned to All My Children as a guest star playing himself and shared scenes with Jacob Young, the actor who subsequently took over Jesse’s role of “J.R.”
In August 2006, Jesse appeared in an ABC Family Special: Schooled. The special was a prank that involved tricking a group of almost 9th graders into thinking that they had to take a series of scrutinous exams to enter into high school. At the event Jesse revealed that he was never a very good test-taker & that he used to have tons of test-anxiety.
Jesse’s favorite song from his new album is a song called “Invincible”. The song was written about a high school friend of Jesse’s who died in a car-crash.
Jesse wrote and performed an exclusive song, “We Can Go Anywhere” for his new movie Keith which released in Spring of 2007.
In an interview about his short-lived WB drama, Summerland, Jesse revealed that his so called nickname “Orange Boy” is a fake. The nickname was actually made up & released to the press as a joke by one of Jesse’s buddies. Jesse reveals: “No one’s ever called me Orange Boy for real.”
If Jesse could listen to any album again, it would be Jame’s Taylor’s Greatest Hits CD.
If Jesse could visit any place a second time, it would be Italy, because it’s romantic and the people are really nice.
Jesse’s latest music video, “Right Where You Want Me” has a groundhog’s day theme, according to Jesse.

Both of Jesse’s parents are performers. At one time, they had their own doo-wop group. Both of his grandparents sometimes go on tour with him. His sister, Lea, is also a preformer, but doesn’t want to make a career out of it. His brother, Timmy doesn’t follow the family plan.
Jesse sings ‘Second Star to the Right’ from Peter Pan on the Disney Mania 2 CD.
